About Julius:

Julius is well known as the oldest gay bar in New York City. Officially opening between 1864 -1867, Julius began to attract a gay clientelle, quite reluctantly, in the 1950's. In 1966 the "Sip-In", famously held her by the gay patrons who were tired of being harassed by ownership and police, help establish the right for gay people to be served in New York City. Visit Julius tonight if you are near W. 10th Street.
